Bullseye Glass Slumping Molds Bullseye Glass makes over 84 new and exciting molds specifically designed for slumping by professionals for professionals.
These are simply the finest slumping molds we have ever found on the commercial market. Slipcast from a specially formulated clay body, they have an exceptionally smooth surface, accept kilnwash uniformly, and do not crack under repeated usage if handled properly. |
Dragon Glass Slumping Molds Dragon Glass makes over 72 new and exciting molds specifically designed for slumping by professionals for professionals. The molds are so unique and so much effort went into the designs, that all are copyrighted.
What makes these molds different from other molds? Well, for starters the molds all have wide rims (when called for) to support glass on the edge of the mold. If you've ever slumped glass in a mold without a rim, you'll know how beneficial this is. It provides extra space to support the glass and eliminates the chance of the glass slipping off the edge of the mold and slumping unevenly. You're getting ready to fire your piece - the mold is big, you're using 2 - 3mm layers of glass and the whole thing is heavy.
How do you pick it up? All Dragon Glass molds have Hand Holds cut out of the mold skirt to make picking up the piece easy. In addition to making it easy to pick up, the Hand Holds also enable more even heating of bottom of the mold.
Other features? Have you ever slumped glass in a mold and found that the finished piece does not lay flat? All Dragon Glass molds have foot rings pre-cast into the mold to eliminate this problem. Uneven bottoms will never be a problem again. Your finished pieces will always lay flat. Dragon Molds also have vent holes pre-cast into the mold. Why is this important? Pre-cast vent holes are stronger than holes which are drilled into a mold after it has been fired. Stronger holes mean less chances of breaking. Drilled holes create a weak area in a mold that can cause cracks later on.
What about firing speeds? All Dragon Glass molds are designed so that you can fire them at a fast rate - slow heating is not required. This enables you to fire more glass on a daily basis, reducing your costs. Whether you need round plates, square plates, oval bowls, round bowls, or special textured plates, we have a mold to suit your needs and more will be available. |
