One question I have after watching the cutting tools section. How does one know when the cutting wheel needs to be replaced? I don't believe you mentioned that.
This is something that I have found not to be able to teach because it takes time for thereafter to learn to hear and feel when the wheel is not working well. I recommend for the crafter to have a extra cutter or replacement wheel available and when they are having scoring issues that they then try the new one and if
The issues go away then you know the old cutter is bad and you should then dispose of the old one. Over time when doing this you will learn the feel and sound when the wheel is not working wheel.
Hope this helps,
helpful! I sat down on Tuesday to practice and put the drive in. The information was great! I liked the different angles that you filmed it from. It was helpful to listen again to your information! It will be something I will use over and over again! Thanks so much!
Over the last couple years of learning stained/mosaic/fused glass I've watched several learning videos and have seen varying levels of quality, and this is at the very top. My husband watched the first couple segments with me (straight-line cutting and shape cutting) and said he even feels like he could start cutting glass.
I also think your instructions for setting up the Beetle system were more helpful than the instructions included with the set.
I originally thought that it would be better to have one continuous video instead of the segments, but after watching, realize I was wrong. It's very helpful, especially for a refresher, to go to the very segment that I need at that time.
I know I will be using it to refresh my memory of what I learned in your class.
Your presentation is that of a fine teacher and wise craftsman! Thank you! I look forward to taking time to watch the other segments as well in order to more fully imbibe all that you taught!
I would recommend this class to anyone.
What a pleasure to take a class taught by an expert in his field. The class was very well run with information sections and hands-on cutting sessions to fully experience the feel of cutting glass.
It was a great class with the students ranging from "new to the art" to "vastly experienced" and everyone left with a much better understanding of the craft and a greater sense of confidence.
This was the first time to the studio and I have to say wow! There are so many beautiful different glass, beads, and tools for every project.
I am very glad I took the time to take this class and to learn proper technique. Joe is a very gentle and patient teacher and the $50 fee is amazing value and worth every penny.
I hope he offers it again!!
